Hello again.
From Constitution Day 2019 to Election Day 2020, I wrote a weekly blog post about every consecutive presidential election. It mainly started as a writing project, and as an outlet for me to nerd out about history, but it was also an interesting way to explore American politics. A lot has been said about each president, who they were, and what they did or did not accomplish. In the Election Series, I also wanted to dig into why their ideas resonated with the voting public in the first place. I learned a lot, and I hope you did too. (I also think my writing skills improved a lot, so I accomplished both goals!)
It’s been four years since I started this blog, and another presidential election is just around the corner. So I’d like to do it again! During my research for the first series, it often stuck me how close America came to being a very different country. So this time, week by week, I’m going to explore the what-ifs of every election. Some are obvious, while others might contain alternate realities you hadn’t considered! This will also serve as a pretext to go a little deeper on some specific issues that shaped each election.
